ALBANY, GA --
Albany Technical College has received a $2,500 grant from State Farm that will help young drivers stay safe on the road.

Out of the grant, 10 students from schools around Southwest Georgia will be able to take a driver's education course for free.

The grant is set up to help students meet requirements for Joshua's Law.

State Farm officials say they are happy to partner with Albany Tech.

Albany Tech President Dr. Anthony Parker says that "students will have to enter into an essay contest to qualify to for the scholarship."

The "Celebrate My Drive" essay should focus on why texting, drinking and other distractions aren't safe while driving. The essay should be 150 words or more.
