Heavy rains have dumped an ample amount of water across all of Southwest Georgia over the past few days.

Drier conditions are moving in allowing for water to continue receding but local roads remain closed for some surrounding counties.

In Tift County, Gibbs Patrick Drive and dirt portions of Richards Drive remain closed.

Worth County has four dirt roads closed. Officials are working hard to get assessments done throughout the day to get them reopened.

Roads closed in Colquitt County include Lonnie Brookerd Road, at the ninety degree curve, and Bickers Bridge Road at the intersection of Moultrie Lenox Road.

In Calhoun County, Mud Creek at Hwy. 62, Pine Island just south of the shooting range, all gates off Chickasawhatchee Road are closed with the only exception being is Bull Pen Road.

Officials are expecting to have these roads open as soon as possible.
