ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to know when the peak flu season is.

Southwest Georgia Public Health Epidemiologist Jacqueline Jenkins says flu seasons are unpredictable and there's never a way to tell from year to year, but in Southwest Georgia cases usually peak in March.

Jenkins says this year has been different because cases started showing up early and the number has yet to decline, but they should start dropping off by the end of February to mid March.

The office says if you haven't caught a case of the flu by this point, you're not in the clear yet so continue disinfecting commonly used surfaces and keep up frequent hand washing.
