FITZGERALD, GA -- Many have struggled in recent months due to the economy, but Polar Beverage Southern Bottling has found a way to grow enough to be recognized for their efforts by their local chamber just 18 months after their debut.
The company acquired the plant in Fitzgerald only a year and a half ago but has already been named the industry of the year by the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Chamber of Commerce.
The company says they gained success by retaining all of the plant's old employees while adding some of their own from the two other offices up north.
"It's good to see both companies with people from Fitzgerald with ours. We bring people from Fitzgerald up to Scotia, to Worcester so we're kind of cross pollinating trying to learn the best practices from all three companies,” said President and CEO, Ralph Crowley.
Fitzgerald Plant Manager Chris Maros says it's a big honor to be recognized this early in their new home and they’ll continue to try and grow and add revenue to the community.
