ALBANY, GA --
The Albany-Dougherty Coalition to end homelessness kicked of their 10 year plan to end homelessness Thursday.

The coalition plans to take strides to reduce the number of homeless individuals around Albany and Dougherty County. All next week, the coalition as well as a team of volunteers, will be conducting a homeless count, which will help determine how much government funding they're eligible for.

“If federal or state funding is available to provide services, and our numbers are low, that affects the amount of dollars that comes into the community, and we've known for years we've been severely under counted,” said David Blackwell, with the Homeless Coalition.
