ALBANY, GA --
The Dougherty County School System held their Special Olympics competition Friday morning.

Students from all the schools throughout the county participated in basketball, bowling, and various other athletic events.

Parents were also able to attend and cheer on the students.

One of the Special Olympics coaches, Henry Hill, said providing these kinds of activities for the kids is what helps them succeed after they leave high school.

Hill also said every student deserves a chance to participate in athletic events.
