DOUGLAS, GA --
A Douglas woman says she is lucky to be alive after two masked men robbed her and her boyfriend at gunpoint at the Dollar General on Route 441 late Saturday night.

Shanda Griffin says she was picking up her boyfriend, Brian Rollins, from Dollar General, where he works, shortly before 11 pm when a man walked up and ordered her out of the car. Griffin says she began to fight with the man when he demanded her money angering him and causing him to become violent. The man then reportedly hit her over the head with his gun before shooting her in the back.

Griffin says at first she didn't realize she was shot until the man asked if he shot her. She then reached back and felt blood on her back.

Meanwhile, his accomplice was inside the store with Rollins asking him to empty out all of the cash in the register. He then allegedly walked Rollins and another employee outside after taking an undisclosed amount of money. After getting Griffin to hand over her money she says the thieves then entered 911 in one of the victim's phones, told her to wait 20 seconds before calling, and fled the scene.

Officials with the Douglas Police Department say they then received a call about the incident and responded to the scene. Investigator Randy Ryles says police from his department, the Coffee County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations arrived on the scene. Ryles says Griffin was already transported to the hospital for treatment. Griffin was treated for a minor gunshot wound and released around midnight. Ryles says Rollins and the other worker stayed behind to give statements.

The two men are still on the loose and investigators are currently sending surveillance video out to be enhanced to create any possible leads.

If you have any information on this case contact the Douglas Police Department at 912-384-2222.
