ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Conventions and Visitor Bureau has launched a new app to help guide visitors and locals around the city.

The app was launched last Thursday.

By using the app people can find lodging, attractions, restaurants and anything else they may need to know about Albany.

Officials wanted to provide this free service so that when the Welcome Center is closed, people can still find information they need.

“Some people when they come into town they don't know that we have a Welcome Center and they're just looking for information. This will be much easier for them to download it on their phones, their iPad, and their androids and they'll have it right at their fingertips,” said Rashelle Beasley, CVB Manager.

In 2013 the Convention and Visitors Bureau will launch four more apps; one for Sherwood movie tours, Paula Dean hometown tours, African American heritage, and a one for cemeteries tours.

These apps will give visitors a chance to tour the city without a tour guide.
