ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to know what activities are available for children during the holiday break.

There are multiple camps available for kids with parents that are still working or just want to keep their children socialized.

The Albany Area YMCA is holding their Christmas Holiday Camp where children have a day full of activities and field trips -- including a teeth cleaning at a dentist.

Across town the Flint RiverQuarium has teamed up with the Thronateeska Heritage Center to offer the Fintastic Day Camp, where children will interact with animals, go to the planetarium, and more.

YMCA Child Care Director Kawona Holliday-Wakefield says these camps are ways for children to learn while still having fun.

Holliday-Wakefield says the most important thing during a break from school is to keep a child engaged and interacting with his or her peers.

The YMCA camp, open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. is $89/week for non-members or $79/week for members but financial assistance is offered to those who need it to ensure all children can participate.

The Fintastic Day Camp is Wednesday December 19th through Friday the 21st and is $55 for members, $65 for non-members and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for children ages 5-10.
