The Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany hosted a Red Cross blood drive Friday afternoon.

At the discretion of supervisors, active duty military and civilians were granted liberal leave in order to donate blood.

The Red Cross emergency response team was also on hand recruiting disaster volunteers, to join their team.

“Becoming a Red Cross disaster volunteer is just fantastic. It's a way to give back to your community, the people that need it locally,” said Nigel Poole the Emergency Program Manager.

If you interested in donating blood or becoming a volunteer, visit the Red Cross website www.Flintriverarc.org.
