ALBANY --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to know how Georgia compares to other states in new health rankings.

According to the 2012 America's Health Rankings by the United Health Foundation, Georgia came out as number 36/50 in overall health.

Among Georgia's lower scores were topics like low graduation rates, levels of air pollution, and a high infant mortality rate.

"Infant mortality rates are too high and I know that is something the state is really doing a lot of work on. We just put together a collaborative team to look at infant mortality and to look towards reducing it in the state,” said District Health Director, Jacqueline Grant.

Grant says she’s happy the study also showed Georgia's strengths which include immunization coverage, something her office has been diligently working on since the start of flu season.
