ALBANY, GA -- Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and the Junior Woman’s Club of Albany will be celebrating the 30th “Lights of Love” ceremony at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, in the main lobby of the hospital.

“Lights of Love” is an annual tree lighting ceremony that gives the community an opportunity to honor or remember their loved ones while giving a special gift to cancer patients and their families. Cancer Survivor Dr. Bill Buntin has been chosen as this year’s tree lighter.

Since its inception, donations to “Lights of Love” have made an incredible $1 million impact on the lives of cancer patients in our area. This year is no different, as donations to this much- anticipated holiday event will benefit the Light House, a five-bedroom home across the street from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital that provides a place of rest for cancer patients travelling long distances for treatment.
