LEESBURG --
Farmers showed up to the Lee County Magistrate Court this afternoon to hear the case of JJB  Farms vs. Douglas Wingate but didn't get to witness the case they were looking for.

The two men were set to begin their case today but after speaking behind closed doors, Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals announced the hearing would be postponed for two weeks.

In the court report, Jack Bass says Wingate purchased peanuts from his farm under a contract then refused to pay for them.

Those at the court say the attorneys may try to negotiate a deal in the next two weeks instead of heading to a full hearing.
