ALBANY, GA --
Legislative officials from Atlanta made their way to Albany/Dougherty County Monday morning to discuss the upcoming year and clear up any misunderstandings between the two authorities.

On the list of discussion was the Dougherty County Northwest branch on Dawson Road. The county has already budgeted 4.6 million dollars to refurbish the building and presented to the legislators a request for a new roof funded through the state.

The roof would reportedly cost $780,000 of state dollars, with the county picking up the rest of the renovation costs.

Representatives also expressed concerns on closing several libraries throughout the county, saying that its more important for residents to have access, than to have highly renovated facilities.
