ALBANY, GA. -- The Lee County Utility Authority has made a decision on how they will spend more than $2 million in SPLOST funds.
Board members had to decide which projects to move forward with and which ones to hold off on when it came to SPLOST 6 funds.
The board voted to use the money to repair and replace existing water and sewer infrastructure in Creekwood and the Glendale area.
“Basically the sewer infrastructure is 30 to 40 years old and it's reached its life span and therefore it needs to be replaced,” says Chris Boswell, Lee County Utility Authority General Manager.
Work on the projects will begin next year.
