LEESBURG, GA --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to what the requirements are to become a substitute teacher in Georgia.

To teach a lesson in case of a teacher's absence you're required to have at least a high school diploma or GED, pass a criminal background check and attend a four-hour workshop.

"Once they've met those requirements, then I submit their names to the Board of Education to be approved to be placed on a substitute teacher list that we maintain in the system and we have a person who calls substitutes for the system,” said Lee County Assistant Superintendent Mike Davis.

Davis says the ones who have the most credentials at the top of the list so they're offered the position before someone with lesser experience.
