ALBANY, GA -- Sanding Blocks, mixing containers, and even power tools are just a few things on the Flint River Habitat for humanity’s Lowes wish.

"The idea is to go into the store and take out and find those items, it even shows the isle here on our list, and then on the way out we have people waiting to thank them and to except the item," said the President of Flint River Habitat for Humanity Ross Harrison.

Monetary donations were also accepted. All the resources collected Saturday will help build two handicap accessible houses on the 2900 block of Rose brier Avenue in Albany.

These two houses will only take seven weeks to build, and that's possible because of an intense program known as the collegiate challenge.

"We have schools coming from everywhere, from Canada, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida," said volunteer coordinator David Wilson.

Groups of 50-60 college students will head down to Albany starting February 17th to volunteer in the building process.

After the last volunteers leave, officials say the houses will be 90-95 percent finished with just finishing left to add.
