ASU Police welcomes new officers

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany State University Police welcomed a few new members to the department, and promoted a few current officers in a ceremony Thursday.

In total there were six officers promoted and six officers hired including a new assistant chief of police Gregory Elder.

Chief Fields said it took some time, but he feels they have assembled a great team, "
It's best to have quality verse quantity, it took a while but I got the right people in place, I got a great assistant chief and I got a great senior staff, and I have a great police department overall."

Officer Rosa Brown to Police Sergeant
Officer Marcus Guess to Police Sergeant
Officer Jesse Robinson to Police Corporal
Security Officer George Albert to Security Corporal
Security Officer Michelle Baker to Security Corporal
Security Officer Charles Davis to Security Corporal

New Employees
Assistant Chief of Police - Gregory Elder
Certified Police Officers - Lolita Clyde, Felicia Coley, Jarrett Frazier, Marvin Jennings, Jeromy Jones, Yamonika Wilson
Communications Officers - Ran-Derek Cullen, Sylvia Gaines
