ALBANY, GA -- Veterans throughout Southwest Georgia will be learning more about their benefits on December 5th at the "Supermarket of Veterans Benefits."

The City of Albany and the Department of Veterans Services put the event together to educate local veterans about the benefits they are eligible for, but many not know it. Veterans will be able to apply for VA health benefits, get help in obtaining military medals and records, and finding about future employment opportunities as well.

Officials with the event say many veterans don't know the benefits they're eligible for and need to be educated through things like the "Supermarket" event.

Attendees can get in for free and the event will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Albany James H. Gray, Sr. Civic Center on December 5th.
