ALBANY, GA --
Friends and family of Nick Widner met Saturday evening to raise money and awareness for Nick and his fight with Osteosarcoma.

Nick was diagnosed the cancerous disease after doctor's found a tumor in his right femur that had made its way into his lungs. After several successful surgeries, Nick is now 95% cancer free and is undergoing chemotherapy to rid his body of the last remaining cancer cells.

When asked how he feels about this overwhelming support, Nick says he's simply thankful.

"I really appreciate it. I never really expected this much support, that many people wanting to come out and support me, it's just unreal," said Nick.

Stay connected to FOX 31 News Weekend as we'll have an update on Sunday with how much the family was able to raise from the event.
