A new television series is showcasing life and people who live in small rural communities across the United States.

Small Town Big Deal recently filmed an episode at McLendon Acres in Leary, Ga, focusing on their water conservation efforts.

Rodney Miller, host, says that too often the smaller communities are portrayed in a negative light. Miller is on a mission to show there are unique people and interesting stories found in rural America.

Small Town Big Deal will air Thursday night on Channel 231 for those who have Dish, and Channel 345 on Direct TV. The network is RFD TV, which stands for Rural Free Delivery, a play on the term used for mail to residences found in rural areas in the 1950's.
