ALBANY, GA --
A man staying at the Dollar Inn at 2706 North Slappey Boulevard Wednesday morning went to hospital after being assaulted in his motel room.

49-year-old John Payne told Albany police that an unknown black male kicked his room door open and attacked him with a gun and knife.

Payne was struck in the head several times with the gun and suffered a cut to his head. He was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
