ALBANY, GA --
The Leary Pecan Cleaning plant in Calhoun County caught fire early Tuesday morning, burning a chunk of the facility to the ground.

Workers were still sifting through the smoldering wreckage around noon Tuesday, along with thousands of roasted pecans that were singed during the blaze.

Management on the scene stated they didn't know what started the fire, but hinted that a drying mechanism may have been the cause.

No one was injured during the fire and officials are still investigating how it began. Stay connected to mysouthwestga.com for more on this story as it develops.
