ALBANY --
Monday marks the start of the final week of early voting in Dougherty County – and since October 15th, thousands have turned up to the polls to cast their ballot.

The voter registration office says presidential elections always cause an increase in turnout and they're encouraging everyone to cast their vote, especially those who can't make it early.

"We're pleased with the turnout right now, just hope that it continues and that they're not all voting early and there won't be anybody in the precincts on the 6th. If you don't vote early, we do encourage you to go on Tuesday, November the 6th and vote,” said Dougherty County Board of Elections member Alan Pendleton.

Early voting will run during normal business hours all this week and ends on Friday.
