ALBANY, GA -- A man was murdered in Ty Ty Saturday night around 10:15 PM with the suspect still at-large.

Tift County Coroner Steve Wood is reporting that 35-year-old Arlester Jackson Jr. was found in a vacant lot on Cherry Street in Ty Ty, and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tift County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation, and the suspect who killed Jackson is still at-large. Wood could not report the cause of death at this time, but did say Jackson will be taken to the Macon GBI lab on Tuesday for an autopsy.

However members of the family say they heard the gunshots that they believe led to Jackson Jr.'s death.

"I heard the shots and i heard a guy scream, damn Collie, you didn't have to shoot him like that, that's hammerhead, you didn't have to shoot him," said eye-witness, Terry James.
