Mrs.. Juanita Anderson, a volunteer at Monroe High School, was honored this morning for her 50-plus years of service.

Anderson retired from teaching at Monroe in May of last year, but still dedicated her time to helping the students at Monroe High.

Johnny Blacke, who graduated from Monroe High in 1957 when Anderson was a secretary at the school, was on hand to present the award to a lady who has no plans to slow down.

"I've been here for some time, and I'm still working hard trying to do whatever I can for the students here are Monroe High School", said Anderson

When asked how long she’s worked at Monroe, Mrs.. Anderson said with a laugh, I don’t know and they don’t know, referring to the school.

After a little digging we found out this is Anderson's 58th year at Monroe.
