Home building across the United States is picking up, but not in Albany.

ALBANY, GA -- Home building throughout the United States has been on the rise in the past few months leading experts to believe the market may finally be rebounding.
However experts in Albany aren't quite as optimistic, stating that it may be another year or so before Albany catches up with the rest of the country.
"We continued to build the construction, most of the homes being built today though are more driven by custom builds, there's some speculative building but currently we're not back to where we were in 2004, 2003," said Patsy Martin, of the Albany Board of Realtors.
Martin also stated that Albany was behind getting into the recession to begin with, so it isn't shocking that we would be slow getting out of it as well.
