ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County School System honored Phoebe Putney at a Wednesday morning rise and shine breakfast.

Phoebe Putney was named as their partner of the year for their help in keeping local schools safe.

Phoebe was responsible for placing eight AED units within the local middle and high schools, with a grant to fund a purchase of 17 more for elementary schools.

"It's an investment that our health care organization has taken upon that we know is creating great returns, and more and more students are graduating from local schools", said Joel Wernick, the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital CEO.

Phoebe also assisted with Project Save which made sure every school in the Dougherty County system was CPR certified.
