ALBANY, GA -- City commissioners have taken the next step in the cleanup of the manufactured gas plant owned by Water, Gas and Light.

Commissioners voted Tuesday to give authority to City Manager James Taylor to create and manage a plan on how to fund the $750,000 cleanup using all available resources, including those of WGL.

Keith Goodin with WGL originally approached the commission asking that they split the cost of the cleanup.

Commissioners say when it comes down to it, it's really a city cost since WGL is a department of the city.

They will vote to approve the motion at their next night meeting Tuesday October 23.
