ALBANY, GA --
The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia held a "Ride for Hope" Thursday at Tony's Westside Athletic Club in Albany.

Each rider made a donation to participate in the event and was supporting an individual in their life that is suffering because of cancer.

CEO of the Cancer Coalition, Diane Fletcher, says the event was not only a huge success but a building block for those that use their service.

"It really is important to the coalition to have this local support, it not only helps our organization, in that every dollar stays here to support our programs, but also it raises visibility about what we do so that individuals who may need our services are aware of it," said Fletcher.

Fletcher says she hopes to hold similar events, like "The Ride" in the years to come.
