ALBANY, GA. --

It's been a few weeks since the death of Albany State University student Taylor Clayton Terrell.

Taylor went missing Saturday Sept. 15, 2012. His body was discovered days later in the Flint River.

Tuesday night Albany State University's Student Government Association held a candlelight vigil in his memory.

Hundreds of Albany State students turned out to a vigil.

“I've always felt like he was my protégé as far as coming up in the Sigma Land and I just felt like he was going to take over a lot of the duties that the older guy have done in the past,” says Ken Nesbitt, President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.

Ken Nesbitt says knowing that the school has rallied together in Taylor’s legacy brings a sense of peace after his untimely death.

“It does give us a sense of closure so that we can move on from this and continue what we've been doing in the past,” says Ken Nesbitt.

Several of those who attended the vigil came up one by one to share their memories about the student. Some had just met Taylor and others were friends he'd known most of his life.
