ALBANY --
After years of success in Albany, the Georgia Peanut Farm Show is moving to Tifton.
The 2013 show will be held at the University of Georgia Conference Center in Tifton on January 16th and 17th.
In a letter to Assistant City Manager Wes Smith, Georgia Peanut Commission Director Dan Kochler explained the competition upped the ante this year.
Kochler says there were no problems with Albany but the UGA Conference Center took advantage of the show’s 50th anniversary and comission's new offices – which are only half a mile from the campus.
Albany will be eligible to submit a proposal sometime next year for a chance to host the 2014 show.
