ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Police Department will hold a free consumer education presentation Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Law Enforcement Center located at 201 W Oglethorpe Blvd.

The focus of the event is to inform the public of ways to protect their identity.

There will also be free shredding for anyone who has information and paperwork they want to dispose safely.

The shred event starts at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 11:00 a.m.

“The shred event will be held on the outside of the Law Enforcement Center in the Washington Avenue alley. So anyone interested in coming down to have items shredded can take Oglethorpe Blvd. to Washington Avenue and then come down the Washington alley and you will see the shred truck there,” says Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Department Public Information Officer.

River Mill Data Management out of Columbus, Georgia will do the shredding.
