CARTERET COUNTY, SC -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has activated a Levi’s Call and Amber Alert for 12-year-old North Carolina resident, Abigale Faith Lefevers.
Officials say Lefevers was abducted by known North Carolina sex-offender 38-year-old Timothy Howard Newman on September 23rd -- she was last seen wearing black Nike shoes and a pink backpack with peace signs on it.
Newman is believed to be driving a stolen red 1998 Sebring with a black convertible top with the license plate AKT6534 Southbound on U.S. Route 17 -- Officials say he may be traveling through Georgia.
Officials say Newman is an experienced truck driver who may know back roads and water ways and is asking the public to pay special attention for the car in ports and coastal areas.
