ALBANY,GA --

It was quite a show Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Tift building!

The Downtown Merchants Association decided to bring Fashion Week to Albany.

Girls strutted their stuff down a makeshift catwalk inside one of the more historic buildings in town.

Tosh Sevier is president of the Downtown Merchants Association and he along with others and business leaders wanted  to hold an event that mirrored what was going on in larger communities.

“So in our searching, we found that fashion week is a huge draw in New York, L.A., London, so many different places, so we thought we'd bring a hometown feel to something that's traditionally done in a lot of other places,” said Sevier.

Fashion week in Albany began Wednesday and culminated Saturday night with the "Rip the Runway" event that showcased several different models from the area as well as Atlanta.
