ALBANY, GA --
Lakeland Police were led on a high-speed chase Wednesday after a cross-dressing man was caught trying to cash a stolen check.

35-year-old Andre Stubbs led police on a 20-minute chase exceeding speeds of up to 120-miles-per-hour. Lieutenant DeAnna Cochran with the Lakeland Police Department says the incident took place at 3:45 PM Wednesday afternoon at the Farmer & Merchants bank.

"I was dispatched to the Farmer & Merchants Bank in reference to a stolen check attempting to be cashed. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver and passenger fled headed east on Highway 37. The pursuit ended in Axium County on Highway 441 North," said Lieutenant Cochran.

Stubbs is charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, two counts fleeing police, one count reckless driving, four counts driving on the wrong side of the roadway, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug related objects.

No one was injured in the high-speed chase, and Stubbs is currently being held in the Cook County Jail.
