ALBANY, GA --
Albany Technical College unveiled their new Pearson VUE Lab, a computer center for GED testing located in the Manufacturing Technology building, Monday afternoon.

All centers are required to make the change from paper-based testing to computer-based exams by December. Albany Tech says having their own center with 18 computers just for GED testing will allow testers quicker results and possibly better scores.

"One of the things that we've learned from the centers that have already implemented computer-based testing is that students are tending to do better on the test so we're looking forward to seeing students pass more than they have in the past," said Linda Coston, the Associate Vice President of Adult Education.

Albany Tech says they're also offering computer literacy courses for those who aren't computer savvy but want to obtain a GED.
