ALBANY, GA --

Dr. Lane Price, the Democratic Candidate for the at large position on the Dougherty County School Board, held a press conference Friday to express her concerns of the mishandling of the Free and Reduced Lunch program, and Title 1 Grant.

Because of the violations within these programs, the Georgia Department of Education will require the Dougherty County School System (DCSS) to hire two people, to oversee the two employees they already have in place handling those programs.

The Georgia Department of Education also stated that the DCSS must re-classify or return the questioned expenditures out of the Title 1 Grant, which is a total amount $134,626.48.

Price is calling for the public to join her at the September 10th School board meeting, at 6:00PM to get answers from the current board, and to see how they plan to address the problem.
