ALBANY, GA --

The public was able to get its first taste of Chehaw's new African Veldt exhibit Saturday.

For a $5 admission fee passengers boarded a tractor and headed out on a 30 minute African safari. The tour takes them over a 40 acre plot of land containing five species of animals.

S
ome of the attractions first guests are giving it rave reviews, "It's really cool, because it's totally separate from the regular part of the zoo so it's something you can't see when you’re walking around so you get to ride and he takes you to wherever the animals...so they go right up close", said David Karalee

The African Veldt exhibit is open weekends only, and closes for the winter November 26th.
