ALBANY --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to know if teachers undergo training for school shootings on campus.

Fox 31 spoke to the Georgia Department of Education who says there are guidelines schools can follow but it is a decision made at a local level.

"We at the state leave it up to districts to determine their crisis management and lockdown procedures with local law enforcement. It's really a local decision to be made based on the needs of that community,” said Dorie Nolt, the Assistant Director of Communications for the Georgia Department of Education.

School systems pair with law enforcement to write their own procedures and participate in things like simulators to make sure they're ready in a time of need.
