ALBANY, GA -- Did you notice a few extra police officers at your child's school Monday?

Dougherty County School System officials say that the Albany Police Department was asked to come into the school system on Monday after a number of shootings occurred over the weekend.

Officials stress that the day has gone by without a problem and that this step was taken merely as a precaution.
