ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook Question of the Day, you wanted to know what signs women should women look for of heart attacks.

Fox 31 spoke to Dr. Jacqueline Grant, District Health Director, who says a common sign in both men and women is tightness in the chest but women also suffer additional symptoms.

"What makes it a little bit different for women is women will have other symptoms that men sometimes don't have. Like women will have a pain in their jaw or neck or back," said Grant.

Dr. Grant says women can also experience headaches, nausea,  numbness in either side or plenty of other symptoms that can be easily confused with other illnesses.

Grant said it is for this reason she advises those with symptoms to chew an aspirin and seek immediate medical attention.

Dr. Grant says she does not know why women feel these added symptoms but says they're often attributed to less serious conditions and it is important to take these feelings seriously.
