ALBANY, GA --

Liberty House of Albany, which is a refuge house for battered women, hosted a community event in Tift Park Saturday afternoon.

The day of fun was planned as a way of giving back to the community.

Kids could get their face painted, free school supplies, and even balloon animals, however this was also a away for Liberty House to become a little more accessible.

"Actually reaching out and coming to our services is difficult to some people, this was an opportunity that if the needed to reach out to us, we're out here in public, in a public place, and were giving something back," Silke Deeley the Director of Liberty House of Albany.

Liberty House is hoping this becomes an annual event, and they plan to make it even bigger next year.
