ALBANY, GA -- Albany police are on scene after shots were fired on Poplar Street near the intersection of Gillespie Avenue.

Investigators say that shots were fired and two suspects have been placed in custody to undergo questioning by detectives after brief footchase.

Officers confirm that no there are no reported injuries from the gun fire at this time and that several other law enforcement agencies assisted in the area.

Dougherty County School System officials confirm that Magnolia Elementary is under Code Red for the time being due to this incident.
