ALBANY,GA --
Community leaders got a unique perspective on the complexities of economic development on the state, regional and local levels.

The program is called Georgia Academy, training local leaders about business recruitment and retention, redevelopment and much more.

“What are the basic principles, what are the major trends and things that are happening statewide? For most people it's not their first exposure to economic development, but it might be their first formal training, says Corinne Thornton with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

They will meet once a month for the next four months at Darton State College.
