ALBANY, GA --

"Barbeque, Bikes, and Books" was the theme of Sunday's Viper Unit motorcycle clubs back to school bash, where the public was invited to enjoy their last day of summer vacation listening to music, eating food, and getting free school supplies.

The club holds numerous fund raising events over the course of the year to be able to purchase school supplies for upwards of 600 kids.

They look at it as an investment in the future, says Viper Unit's president, Marvin Thomas, "Kids are the future, one day when I'm gone there be another kid that comes up and takes control of Viper Unit, it'll be here forever so we need the kids because they are the future, and it's very important they have the tools they need to get a good education."

The back to school bash is helping both kids and their parents get excited for the new school year, as everyone we spoke two said they are looking forward to Monday.

As for the Viper Unit, they're happy to help the community in any way they can.
