ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County National Night Out was held Thursday bringing out over 3,000 students.

The goal of the event is to educate students about their local law enforcement and fire services, while creating a fun environment as well.

"It's basically for kids and parents to meet their public servants, so they can meet the people that are serving them on a day-to-day basis," said officer William Johnson.

Multiple vendors set up for the event, and students received free school supplies and plenty of food.
