ALBANY, GA -- Officials with the, Parks at Chehaw, announced Thursday that they will not be charging admission to the park through August.

Executive Director of the Parks, Doug Porter, said this move was done to encourage people to get out and celebrate the parks 75th anniversary.

"This is our 75th anniversary at Chehaw Park, being founded back in 1937. We thought the month of August would be a nice time to offer free admission to the front part of the park, to give people an opportunity to get out," said Porter.

Although admission will still be charged for the wild animal park, Albany residents are encouraged to come out and enjoy all the park has to offer.
