ALBANY, GA. --

In the next few weeks, those who travel on Oglethorpe Boulevard will see a clear plot of land where the old Heritage House once stood.

Officials with the Oxford Construction Company say they have completed the process of asbestos removal and taken down all upper floors of the structure.

Construction workers are now in the process of removing the first floor and recycling all the debris.

This process is expected to be done within two weeks.

After that, the plan is to clear the land of its concrete pavement and then begin top soiling the land and putting down grass seed.

The lot where the Heritage House once stood is expected to be completed by the end of August or early September.
