DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA --
The Dougherty County Police Department is looking for three men caught on surveillance footage cashing the same counterfeit check at the Quick Buys on Sylvester Road.
On July 18th around 5:30 p.m. one man successfully cashed the $396 check. Only an hour later, another man cashed the same check made out to a different name - but this case proves the third time really is the charm.
"On the following day there was a third individual that attempted to cash the same counterfeit check but it was declined," said DCP Sergeant Chad Kirkpatrick.
Upon further investigation, the police discovered the business named on the check did not match the address.
DCP is asking anyone with information to please come forward or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS, that's 229-436-8477.
